Why wood is the Better Option for Framing
In residential buildings, wood often is the most advantageous, when compared to more traditional steel construction. Here are a few of the reasons why:
Easier Reparability
Damage to the internal structure of a residential building can happen for a variety of reasons, both during the construction process and post-handover time period. When the building is built with a wooden frame, repair with minimal damage to the surrounding structure is a fairly simple process.
Durability and Affordability
Wood is much cheaper than both concrete and steel and concrete, which means framing with wood can lower construction costs. And if the wood is correctly treated, it can be just as long-lasting as a steel beam with the same dimensions.
Energy Efficiency
Wood is a wonderful natural insulator, which means that the structure’s cooling and heating systems require less work, resulting in lower monthly energy bills.
